Indiana artist Richard Peeler's work is listed on QuaintMarks! This one of a piece beauty is hard to find, and this price is unbelievable!
Rare two-tone stoneware pottery by Richard Peeler with crackle glass in the center, forming and bringing two different textures together. This piece, as seen on the back, also has the artist's first initial and full last name signed into the stoneware.
The outer stoneware pottery has a distinct two-tone look with the brown and red hue stoneware coming together. This piece was formally an ashtray from the mid century era but can easily be used as a small decorative dish.
Peeler's characteristic stoneware has been left unglazed, yet the multi-colored glass in the center seen were fused together in a kiln to form a visually interesting crackled glass surface.
This crackling has formed a one of kind cracking in this piece that is interesting and intentional. Crackled surface and cracking within the glass were formed when this piece was put into a kiln and made intentionally by the artist.
This piece is also listed in my Etsy store. A Google search should take you there!
